Khmer Organic cooperates with various private companies to supply agricultural inputs, such as seeds, organic fertilizer, pesticides, and control agents as well as technical advice and assistance to farmers in order to promote organic agriculture.
Production
A contract farming agreement with agricultural cooperatives and commercial farm operators throughout the country supplies the organic products sold in our stores. Khmer Organic remains heavily involved throughout the whole process, ensuring compliance with European, US, and Cambodian Organic standards as well as Cambodian food safety standards for each commodity.
Khmer Organic currently works with agricultural cooperatives in five provinces: Prey Veng, Kampot, Kampong Chhnang, Pursat and Mondulkiri.
Transportation
Khmer Organic works with a trusted transportation agency to develop delivery and transportation procedures of careful temperature monitoring, record bookkeeping and responsible driving. Organic produce is transported 3 times weekly from production sites to our packing house in Phnom Penh.
Packing and Processing
Food safety standards are introduced and strictly followed in our packing house. All our packaging house staff are continuously trained. Safety procedures are developed based on standard requirements. All produce is delivered from packing to market channels.
Market
As of now, available products include fresh produce, rice, cashew nuts, pepper, palm sugar, palm sap, cereals, chicken meat, chicken eggs, duck eggs, fish and other local agricultural products as well as community products in Cambodia. We sell local products through our shop outlets, online sales, high value markets, hotels, restaurants, catering services, and are developing export channels for the near future.
